Fixing Buffering and Freezing

3 minutes Beginner Updated 2 hours ago

Buffering and freezing are almost always related to your internet connection. Work through these steps in order.

Check these first

1

Check your connection type

A wired ethernet connection is more stable than Wi-Fi, especially for HD and 4K streaming.

2

Restart your router

Unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait for it to fully reconnect.

3

Reduce network congestion

Pause large downloads or other streams on your network while watching.

We recommend at least 10–15 Mbps for standard viewing, and 25 Mbps or higher for smooth HD and 4K streaming or multiple devices at once.

Problem
Playback keeps buffering or freezing.
Possible Causes
An unstable or slow internet connection, too many devices sharing the same network, or Wi-Fi interference.
Resolution Steps

Move closer to your router or switch to a wired connection where possible. Restart your router. Pause other devices using heavy bandwidth, like large downloads or other streams, while you watch.
