Improving Picture Quality and Performance

2 minutes Beginner Updated 2 hours ago

Picture quality is almost always down to your connection speed or your app’s quality setting. Here’s how to fix it.

Check these first

1

Test your internet speed

Run a speed test on the same device or network you’re streaming on.

2

Check the app’s quality setting

Some apps let you manually select streaming quality — make sure it isn’t set unnecessarily low.

3

Reduce other network activity

Other devices streaming or downloading at the same time can reduce the bandwidth available to you.

We recommend at least 10–15 Mbps for standard viewing, and 25 Mbps or higher for smooth HD and 4K streaming.

Problem
The picture quality looks poor or blurry.
Possible Causes
A limited internet connection speed, a streaming quality setting set too low, or high network congestion.
Resolution Steps

Check your internet speed meets our recommended minimums (25 Mbps for HD/4K). Try lowering the streaming quality setting temporarily if your connection is limited, then increase it once your connection improves.
